| direkte Rede | indirekte Rede |
|---|---|
| Simple Present: „I am tired.“ | Simple Past: She said she was tired. |
| Present Progressive: „I'm working.“ | Past Progressive: He said he was working. |
| Simple Past: „I saw it.“ | Past Perfect: She said she had seen it. |
| Present Perfect: „I have finished.“ | Past Perfect: He said he had finished. |
| will: „I will come.“ | would: She said she would come. |
| can: „I can swim.“ | could: He said he could swim. |
Steht das einleitende Verb im Präsens (says), entfällt der Backshift: She says she is tired.
Orts- und Zeitangaben
now → then, today → that day, yesterday → the day before, tomorrow → the next day, here → there, this → that
say und tell
- say (something): He said (that) he was hungry.
- tell somebody: He told me (that) he was hungry. Nach tell steht immer eine Person.
Fragen
- Ja/Nein-Fragen mit if oder whether: „Are you ready?“ → She asked if I was ready.
- W-Fragen mit dem Fragewort: „Where do you live?“ → He asked where I lived.
Aufforderungen
Mit tell/ask somebody (not) to do: „Close the door!“ → She told me to close the door. „Don't be late!“ → He told us not to be late.
Kurz gemerkt
Nach said/told/asked eine Zeitstufe zurück (backshift): present wird past, past und present perfect werden past perfect, will wird would. Tell immer mit Person. Indirekte Fragen ohne do, mit if bei Ja/Nein-Fragen.
